Mobile phones, televisions, and other electronic devices have taken up a large part of our lives. Especially for children who lack self-control, they constantly play with these devices, leading to vision deterioration and the need for glasses even before starting school.

For parents, the most concerning issue is to limit their child's screen time and keep them away from electronic devices. They often urge their children to stay away from screens and reduce the time spent playing, but they overlook dietary adjustments.

If children spend a long time reading books or watching TV, they are prone to dry eyes. Shepherd's purse is rich in B vitamins, carotene, vitamin C, etc., which can prevent dry eye syndrome if children eat it frequently.

Preparation and consumption: Boil, stir-fry, or use it as a filling for dumplings.

Note: Shepherd's purse is cool in nature, so it is not suitable for weak kids with spleen and stomach deficiency.

Brighten Your Eyes with Spinach
Spinach, also known as red root vegetable, is rich in vitamin C, carotene, potassium, magnesium, coenzyme Q10, etc. It is known as the "nutrition model" among vegetables.

Lutein, derived from spinach, is extremely effective in preventing macular degeneration caused by aging of the eyes and also plays a significant role in preventing cataracts.

Potassium and magnesium in spinach can improve the elasticity of children's eye muscles, promote eye activity, reduce the incidence of myopia, and make the eyes brighter.

Preparation and consumption: Stir-fry, cold salad, and it can be paired with meat dishes, with the stem being the preferred part.

Note: Children with weak spleen and stomach or weak gastrointestinal function should not consume spinach excessively or ideally avoid it.

Relieve Eye Fatigue with Sweet Potatoes
Sweet potatoes, also known as yams or red potatoes, are a nutritious and rich natural supplement. They are rich in protein, phosphorus, calcium, potassium, carotene, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, and 8 essential amino acids.

Eye fatigue in children is a sign of decline and aging of the body's organs. Sweet potatoes can enhance the functions of the liver and kidneys due to their beneficial effects of replenishing qi and body fluids, tonifying the middle burner, and promoting blood circulation. This helps the eyes to restore to their optimal comfort.

Preparation and consumption: Cook as porridge or dissolve sweet potato flour in milk and drink.

Note: Eating raw sweet potatoes can cause stomach discomfort, so it is best to consume them in moderation. Sweet potatoes contain diastase, so it is not recommended to consume them in large quantities at once. They are more effective when combined with wheat-based foods.

Combat Aging Eyes with Egg Yolks
Egg yolks contain abundant cholesterol, lecithin, and other micronutrients. Many people are scared away from consuming egg yolks due to cholesterol fears. However, egg yolks are also rich in lutein, calcium, iron, phosphorus, and other micronutrients. Moderate consumption is beneficial for children's physical development.

Lutein in egg yolks has strong antioxidant properties. It can effectively resist damage to the retina caused by the sun's ultraviolet rays, prevent premature aging of the eyes, and guard against eye diseases such as cataracts and macular degeneration.
