Identify the characteristics of each face shape.
The forehead is wider at its widest than the cheekbones, but not much wider. Those with cheekbones wider than the lower jaw and a distinct chin are known to be better oval faces. A tapered face, similar to an oval face, but has a pointed chin and the face is tapering down from the temple. The tapered face is a very rare face shape, not a common face shape even in foreign countries.A round face often has round eyes. The mandible has no sharp margin. And the chin has no sharp points. The difference between round and oval faces is that oval faces are longer overall. The square face has a more three-dimensional mandible, more clear margin, and corners of the face. Diamond face, just like the name suggests, is a diamond. It is a face with a narrow forehead, prominent cheekbones, and a narrow chin and mandible.
Judge by the relative ratio.
The reason why many people rarely change glasses is that the expected cost at many retailers is too high. With so many glasses to choose from, knowing what works best for you can really help accentuate your unique facial contours. Just calculate the length and width of the face, with the width being the width of the chin on each side and length being the length from mouth to eyebrow and cheek. Then you can judge the shape of the face by the ratio. The ratio for each face shape is that for the round face, the ratio of length to width is 2 to 3. For the long face, the ratio of length to width is 3 to 2. For the inverted triangle face shape, the ratio of length to width is 3 to2. For the oval face, the ratio of length to width is 1 to1.
Distinguish by facial contours.
Stand in front of a mirror and use a non-permanent marker or lipstick to draw the outline of your face on the mirror accurately. Follow the lines of the chin, from the hairline to the cheekbones (ignore the ears). When you've had your drawing, determine your own type of face shape according to the contours of the face and the face shape.
Measure and compare.
Stand or sit in front of a large mirror. Facing the mirror, keep your chin level and measure the widest part of your forehead. Measure the distance from the hairline on one side of the forehead to the hairline on the other. Write down the result. Measure your cheekbones. Touch the most prominent part of your cheekbone with your fingertips. This is usually located just below the outer canthus of each eye. Once you've found the right position, measure from one cheekbone to the other. Measure the distance from the ends of the chin to the tip of the chin. Place one end of the ruler on the corner of your chin, just below your ear, and the other end on the tip of your chin. Do the same on the other side, and then add up the results, or multiply the first measured value by 2. You get jawline length. Measure the length of your face. Take the ruler from the center of the upper hairline down to the tip of the chin. Compare each value to determine the shape of your face. Compare the ratio of your face shape to a typical face shape.
